we had a great, busy weekend, but one thing i realized, it's quickly turning to fall here in porltand! yay! fall is my favorite season. i love the clothes, the food, the smell and feel of the air...ahh i can't wait.
although any flower from any season and from any country is basically available at the drop of a hat these days, it is definitely not the most cost effective choice for the majority of brides out there :) so, in honor of our up and coming fall season i thought we could look at some beautiful and perhaps less known flower options for the fall wedding season. these flowers are available through most of fall and some are year round--and of course these are not the only options you have.
it's important to have a good understanding of what you are working with when you are planning your flowers, especially in fall and winter. it's easy to dream big about peonies and ranunculus' billowing from your bouquet in october or february but it's just not going to happen. i would suggest searching through flower books--martha stewart and real simple both have books with good direction and creative ideas for flowers in season. this will help give you a better idea of what to expect with your florist.
